What Orbonis does with your screen content, where your text can travel, and what this website collects.
Last updated: August 2026
1.Short summary
Orbonis is a desktop application. It captures the screen region you select, recognizes the text in it, and shows a translation over that region.
- OCR can run locally on your computer, so the image of your screen does not have to leave it for text recognition.
- Translation is different: if you choose an online translation provider or a custom AI endpoint, the recognized text is sent to that provider so it can be translated.
- We do not claim the whole translation process is offline. Which data leaves your computer depends on the provider you configure.
- The website collects only what is needed to sell, deliver and support the software.
2.Screen captures and recognized text
When you trigger a translation, Orbonis takes an image of the region you selected and passes it to the OCR engine you configured. Local OCR engines process that image on your own machine.
The recognized text is then handed to your chosen translation provider. If that provider is an online service or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, the text travels over the internet to that service, under that service's own privacy terms. Orbonis does not add its own copy of your text.
Screen images and recognized text are held only for as long as needed to produce and display the result. Orbonis is not designed as a logger of what you translate.
3.API keys and settings
Provider credentials, endpoints, model names, language choices and your keyboard shortcut are stored in the application's own settings on your computer so it can talk to the provider you chose. We never ask you to share an API key with us, and support will never request one.
4.Third-party translation providers
Choosing a provider is your decision, and it decides where your recognized text goes. Before selecting one, read that provider's privacy policy and terms — especially whether it retains submitted text or uses it to improve its models.
If you would rather not send text to an online service, prefer an offline-capable provider where available, and avoid translating confidential material through a provider you have not vetted.
5.This website
The site serves marketing and documentation pages. Forms on the site collect only the fields shown: for support, your name, email, category and message; for license retrieval, the email address you used at checkout.
If analytics is enabled before launch, it will be configured for aggregate visit measurement rather than advertising profiles, and this policy will name it.
6.Purchases and license delivery
Checkout is handled by our commerce platform and its payment processors. They receive the details needed to take payment and issue a receipt; we do not see or store your full card number. We use your order email address to deliver your license, to resend it on request, and to answer questions about that order.
7.Support correspondence
Messages you send us are kept while your issue is open and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can follow up. Please do not include API keys, passwords or card details in support messages.
8.Your choices and requests
You can ask what order and support data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it for tax and accounting purposes.
Write to info@orbonis.shop from the address on your order so we can identify it.
9.Children
Orbonis is a productivity tool intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10.Changes to this policy
If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Related documents: the Terms of Service and the License Agreement.
